Be Joyful
By Frances Drost
You are the Lord, Master of all
Messiah and soon coming King
Chosen of God, holy and just
And we are the work of Your hands
Be joyful oh my soul
Be joyful oh my soul
And hope thou in the Lord your God
And be joyful oh my soul
You are the Christ, anointed One
Most holy God on high
You're the Light of the World, shining through me
And You've made me just like You
Lord, I'm just like You
Shepherd of souls, peace for the world
Wonderful Word of Life
You're the power of God, Prophet and Priest
And You touch the world through me

The Bottom of Grace

The Bottom of Grace
By Tom Drost and Frances Drost
It's a long way to the bottom of grace
It's a long fight to the end of faith
For our Father has compassion
And He knows that we're just men
So it's a long way to the bottom of His grace
We can serve Him for a lifetime and love Him faithfully
Then all at once we find ourselves trapped so easily
For a moment we are blinded
To some it seems like years
But through our loving heavenly Father
Grace is always waiting near
I have had my times of sorrow
I've cried my share of tears
'Cause I've watched the ones I trusted
Fail Him through the years
In those times my heart is tested
And I almost lose my way
But in the shadows of the darkness
Faith is always standing there
So before you judge a brother
Before you point a finger
Don't forget about His mercy
Don't forget about the grace

The Willow

The Willow
By Frances Drost
I won't hang my harp upon the willow
I'll keep praising You as long as I have breath
Though the enemy will try to take the music
I won't hang my harp upon the willow
The harp is a symbol of music David used to praise His God
In times of battle it brought victory
In distress it brought song
So like David in the days of old
I will pick up my harp and sing
And I will praise You Lord
In spite of every troublesome thing
In the midst of trying times
When the load seems hard to bear
There's temptation to cease to praise Him
And hang my harp in despair
And the enemy comes to mock me
Saying "Play me another song"
And I pick up my harp and sing a song of victory
And I will cast my cares upon my Savior
For He cares for me like no one ever has
And I will sing a song of praise unto my Jesus
'Cause I won't hang my harp upon the willow

I Still Believe

I Still Believe
By Frances Drost
Shaken to the core of my being
Learning how to trust You once again
Fear, despair and doubt strain against my soul
But this one thing I'll say in spite of what I feel
I still believe, after all that I've been through
I still believe and I will trust You even more
For Your faithfulness is reaching
To the end of all my strength
So when all is said and done, I still believe
You're the God who promised You'd be with me
But sometimes it just seems I'm so alone
Even through the pain and times of bitter tears
You'll find me on my knees standing firm again
I won't compromise by disbelieving
Or jeopardize my faith by what I see
Rooted in Your Word, planted like a tree
Though the strong winds blow, they won't bother me

Bidder On The Heart

Bidder on The Heart
By Frances Drost
How do you measure the worth of a soul?
How can you say what it's worth?
Man is the viewer of outwardly charm
But God sees the depths of the heart
How can we measure the worth of a heart?
Where are we drawing the line?
We're not the Maker, we're not the judge
God is the bidder on the heart
On a platform of valuables
Tell me what would you bring?
And who sets the stage for the cost?
One bids a high price and one not a cent
One doesn't know you exist
To some you are valuable
To some you are not
Some wouldn't care to decide
But you can't go living by what others say
God is the Maker of your heart

Wrong Thing

Wrong Thing
By Frances Drost
Life is too short to do the wrong thing
Life will too soon fade away
Though His mercy is great and so great is His love
Life is too short to do the wrong thing
Caught in between of the better or good
Wanting to do what is best
Too many choices are calling my name
And I don't know quite what to do
I'll get on my knees and I'll pray with my heart
I'm here 'til I know what to do
The longer I wait
Now the clearer I see
Destiny's waiting for me
This is a matter of better or best
It's not just what's right or what's wrong
I have a purpose, Lord
You have the plan
Now my generation is waiting for me

Personalities
By Frances Drost
Sanguines love to have parties
Cholerics wanna be in charge
Melancholies wish life was perfect
Phlegmatics just don't care
Now all the personalities were made by God
And everybody has a place
But since I'm the writer of this little song
I think melancholies sure are best
Sanguines love to tell stories
Exaggeration is their gift
No matter that the story's not truthful
As long as it will make us laugh
Cholerics love to be bossy
Order everyone around
No matter that you're hurting my feelings
As long as you are always right
Melancholies love to be perfect
"Don't do it if it's not done right!"
Our standards may be higher than heaven's
But someone's gotta show you the way
Phlegmatics love to be peaceful
You'll never find them rocking the boat
And if they ever have any problems
They'll never get around to let you know

Free From The Inside Out

Free From The Inside Out
By Frances Drost
Lord I wanna be free from the inside out
Put me underneath the spout where the glory comes out
Take this troubled soul inside, set it free
Lord, I'm gonna press in until You hear my cry
Overwhelm me with a dose of Your holy supply
I'm so hungry and thirsty and I won't be denied
Oh, the devil is as sly as a tricky fox
His one desire is to put you in a big old box
He wants to steal your family and rob your joy
But God has written in His book, the Holy Word
There's no other name above Christ my Lord
So old mister devil has got to flee when I speak that name
Our Father He has a burning desire
To fill you up with the power of His holy fire
Set you free from all of Satan's evil plans
So bring your bondage to the Lord at the foot of the cross
Turn your back on all the lies you have bought
And the victory is yours in Jesus' name
So rise and be free
Don't you wanna be free from the inside out
He'll put you underneath the spout
Where the glory comes out
Take your troubled soul inside and set you free
But you gotta press in 'til He hears your cry
Overwhelms you with a dose of His holy supply
You gotta be hungry and thirsty and you won't be denied

A Psalm of The Free One
By Frances Drost
You have heard my cries in the night
You have seen my tears in the day
In the darkest of season
You are my light
And you, Oh Lord, are mine
And I will praise You with all of my heart
And I will love You with all of my might
For You are my God and my Friend
And You have heard my prayer
Though I walk through the valley of death
I know that I will bloom again
In the desert places
You are my joy
And I am Yours, oh Lord
And You will guide me with all of Your heart
And You will love me with all of Your might
For I am Your child and Your friend
And You have heard my prayer

He Can!
By Frances Drost
Rivers of water are flowing through me
Healing the wounded and setting them free
There is a mystery in you and in me
People held captive are now walking free
He can take a sinner make him righteous
He can take a sinner set him free (repeat)
Miracles happen both inside and out
Sin is forgiven and health is restored
There is no problem too big or too small
My God is bigger and greater than all
Come join the dance of the saved and the free
Give Him a chance and I know you will see
There is a song to be sung in the night
Loosen your heart to His joy and delight

Innocence is Good
By Frances Drost
Pussy willow tree
Calling to the child in me
Come and find your rest
Spend your day in sweet caress
Listen to the wind blow
Softly through my arms
Take the time to sit here
Think on lighter things
Pussy willow tree
Calling to the child in me
Come and find your rest
The birds have come
They're here to nest
Memories of childhood
Lead me home to yesteryear
It all adds up to lifetimes
That one day started here
Pussy willow tree
Calling to the child in me
Come and find your rest
My roots are deep
My shade delight
Remind me where I'm going
Is part of where I've been
There I find a window to who it is I am
Pussy willow tree
Calling to the child in me
Come and find your rest
Here beneath my silver dress
Things that I'd forgotten
Places I have been
Bring to me reminders
That innocence is good

Someone Else's Shoes

Someone Else's Shoes
By Frances Drost
When I was a little girl
We would go and visit Grandpa's grave
Almost every holiday we would stop and see
I would watch my mother kneel
Say a word maybe shed a tear
I would wait so impatiently
I guess I couldn't see
Now I understand
Things I couldn't see before
Feelings I could never know
'Til they came to visit me
Now I understand
There are things I'll never know
'Til I've walked a mile or two
In someone else's shoes
Here I am
I'm older now
I go and visit my Daddy's grave
Almost every time I'm near
I stop and say hello
I share my heart and shed a tear
I'm feeling things I've never felt before
I think I see what my mother saw
What it meant to her
All too soon
The day will come
You'll say goodbye to the one you love
Death will come like the setting sun
Night will settle in
I pray for you a friend to come
Hold your hand
Wipe away all your tears
Send a card
Bring you a smile
But one thing is for sure
You will understand
Things you couldn't see before
Feelings you could never know
'Til they come to visit you
You will understand
There are things you'll never know
'Til you've walked a mile or two
In someone else's shoes
Now I understand
There are things I'll never know
'Til I've walked a mile or two
In someone else's shoes
